Course Description 

People are at the heart of every organisation, and it is their effective communication, collaboration and contribution that is the foundation of a successful business. Today, it is more important than ever to help people understand themselves, and the people they work with, so that they can be effective and contribute at their highest level, whether that’s working as part of a high-functioning team or leading others with authenticity. 

This course sets out to help build good relationships by understanding yourself and others.  We will use the Insights Discovery psychometric methodology which determines how and why people behave the way they do. We also introduce the concept of perception to help you further understand other people's perspective.


What topics are covered? 

Our courses are tailored to your needs by selecting from a list of tools, each of which is an individual topic and takes about an hour. Each tool generally covers one key management skill, behaviour or attribute, is accompanied by a toolcard (which builds up to create a personalised toolkit) and uses our Tell-Show-Do experiential learning methodology.

1. Insights Discovery Model 

The four-colour energy model acts as a common language for individuals to better understand each other and find out how to adapt their style, build rapport and strengthen their professional relationships. Each of the colour energies has strengths and weaknesses – like having a good or bad day – this tool helps people identify these characteristics in themselves and others. 

2. Dial It Up

Once you have identified someone’s colour and personality preferences, you can flex your style to work more effectively with them by dialling up (this tool) or dialling down (the next tool) your own preferences.  

3. Dial It Down 

Once you have identified someone’s colour and personality preferences, you can flex your style to work more effectively with them by dialling up (previous tool) or dialling down (this tool) your own preferences. As you would expect, these two tools work as a pair! 

4. Spotting Colour Energies At A Distance

A cheat sheet to help you spot colour energies when working with people remotely – ie over MSTeams, Zoom or similar. And then what value each colour can bring so that you can make the most of each person in your rainbow team.  

5. Perception

Everyone sees the world differently based on who you are, your life experiences and of course your Insights Discovery preferences. This tool helps you understand and appreciate your own perceptions and how they affect your interactions with others.  

 

How long is the course?

It depends on how many tools you selected from the list above! Each tool takes about an hour, with extra time for an introduction, any breaks that are needed and a wrap-up. Choose one tool or add them together - three tools make up half a day, and five or six tool make a full day.  

What can you expect?

Interactive, thought-provoking training that can be virtual, face-to-face or a hybrid of the two. We use a variety of methods to create learning that sticks: from videos to activities and exercises in groups or individually, to e-learning, to further reading.
