What topics are covered?
Our courses are tailored to your needs by selecting from a list of tools, each of which is an individual topic and takes about an hour. Each tool generally covers one key management skill, behaviour or attribute, is accompanied by a toolcard (which builds up to create a personalised toolkit) and uses our Tell-Show-Do experiential learning methodology.
You can select from the list of tools below to create learning that is just right for your needs or get in touch with one of our trainers to help design and curate the right programme for your team.
Your custom Building Key Relationships Toolkit:
Choose from:
1. Parent - Adult - Child
This tool, also known as Transactional Analysis by Eric Berne, helps you understand interpersonal dynamics. You’ll be able to identify behaviours and communication patterns such as parental authority (learned responses), rational thinking (adult), or emotional reactions (childhood patterns).
Once you’ve identified and understood the behaviours, you learn how to move to an adult-adult relationship to improve interactions and foster healthier relationships in both your personal and professional life.
2. Building your Reputation
This tool helps you think about your reputation in terms of your authority, presence and impact – what it is now and what you’d like it to be. This forms the basis of a plan to improve your professional reputation.
3. Build Status and Connection
This tool helps you build and balance status and connection so others both like and respect you – ultimately building your gravitas.
4. Triggers and Behaviours
This tool helps you understand what gets people ‘in the zone' (or out of it), how to spot when they're out of the zone and how to best support them to get back in.
5. Relationship Triangle
Good quality professional relationships are essential to delivering your objectives. This five-step triangle helps you identify who you need to have strong professional relationships with and helps you reflect on the quality of that relationship. Now you are ready for the Relationship Funnel tool…
7. Bring your Whole Self to Work
We are all imperfect human beings doing the best we can. Mindfully sharing more of your true self at work unlocks greater creativity connection and performance. This tool helps you explore four ways to bring your whole self to work and find which ones will work for you in different circumstances. The ‘Do’ for this tool is related to a pineapple…intrigued?
6. Relationship Funnel
This tool helps you build and nurture professional relationships by thinking about how to move from a relationship where you are aware of each other to one with deep loyalty and trust. It works in a pair with the Relationship Triangle (who you need strong working relationships with).
How long is the course?
It depends on how many tools you selected from the list above! Each tool takes about an hour, with extra time for an introduction, any breaks that are needed and a wrap-up. Choose one tool or add them together - three tools make up half a day, and five or six tool make a full day.
What can you expect?
Interactive, thought-provoking training that can be virtual, face-to-face or a hybrid of the two. We use a variety of methods to create learning that sticks: from videos to activities and exercises in groups or individually, to e-learning, to further reading.
